Mini Grilled Cheese with Bacon and Cheddar

Grilled cheese baguette appetizers with bacon are yummy in your tummy. These are absolutely delicous and so easy to make for any party. You can experiment with different types of cheeses and spices. This recipe is for a basic version. I sometimes add thinly sliced pears to the sandwich. If you like spicy add a few drops of hot sauce to the butter.

Ingredients

Package of any bacon cooked and chopped up. Set aside.

French Bread Baguette cut 1 inch thick

1 cup softened butter.  Mix in 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper to butter.

Package of Swiss and Cheddar Cheese.

  1. Heat pan to medium
  2. Butter both sides of bread
  3. Add cheese and bacon. Cook both sides to a nice golden brown.
  4. Serve warm

Christmas Toffee

Toffee candy is so easy to make. The holidays are an awesome time to start baking and making sweet treats for your family and friends. Make a big batch, then place the pieces inside a parchment lined container. Add a festive colored bow and you have a delicious gift for lots of folks.

Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

Steps

Heat sugar, butter and water to boiling in heavy 2-quart saucepan, stirring constantly; reduce heat to medium. Cook about 13 minutes, stirring constantly, to 300°F on candy thermometer or until small amount of mixture dropped into cup of very cold water separates into hard, brittle threads. Watch carefully so mixture does not burn.
Immediately pour toffee onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Spread mixture to 1/4-inch thickness. Sprinkle with chocolate chips; let stand about 1 minute or until chips are completely softened. Spread softened chocolate evenly over toffee. Sprinkle with pecans.
Let stand at room temperature about 1 hour, or refrigerate if desired, until firm. Break into bite-size pieces. Store in airtight container.

Whiskey Barrel Planter

Visit your local garden center and purchase a barrel or two. These whisley barrels are so much fun to create.

Supplies needed;

whiskey barrel, bags of dirt, pebbles, fertilizer, mulch and flowers.

  1. Place whiskey barrel in location. Do this before you add the dirt and pebbles.
  2. Add pebbles about 2-3 inches deep. Add dirt with a slow release fertilizer.
  3. Plant your flowers. Add mulch. Water

Quick and Easy Crochet Blanket

Crochet a blanket in a weekend. This super easy crochet project makes crochet fun. This is a great project for beginners.

Crochet Hook Q or 16mm hook
Yarn Weight Bulky
Finished Size 45 x 70 inches

Materials:
8 skeins bulky yarn

1. Ch 75 (or more if you want it longer).

2. Row 1: sc in each chain to end. Turn.

3. Rows 2-60: sc in next st, and in each st across. Ch 1. Turn. Repeat until row 60, or until it is wide enough for your liking. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
